Erie Chang and Sehee Kim are the innovative duo who have taken their love for design and passion for prints into the spotlight – or in this case – the sunny side of swim and resort wear. The dedicated artists/entrepreneurs bring a New York City Textile/Designing background to their colorful creations, touched with a sensitivity inspired by pure playfulness. Floatimini is not only fun to say, it¡¯s even more fun to wear – just ask their kids!

After receiving formal educations at the School of Visual Arts and the Fashion Institute of Technology, respectively, Erie and Sehee met as co-workers in NYC¡¯s fashion district. Honing their skills by designing, creating, and painting rich textiles, the two set out to start a company of their own. A shared experience of motherhood – 3 daughters and 2 sons between them – strengthened their bond and inspired the idea of creating brighter, more diverse, and more durable (antibacterial, quick-drying, SPF 50 protection) suits for their own children.

With the concept of creating quality clothing for their own kids to bask in, Floatimini was born. Erie and Sehee design each piece with an intense dedication to quality and style, traveling the world to keep current with the latest trends, innovations, and perspectives on ¡°fun.¡± Their goal has always been to perfect the ¡°perfect pool print,¡± and this commitment to quality has recently expanded into a resort wear line (current) and boys¡¯ line in the 2009-2010 season.

Floatimini¡¯s line of swimwear and resort wear clothing is a diverse selection of bikinis and one-pieces that include hoodies, wrap skirts, sun dresses, shorts and t-shirts. Using soft cotton and a vintage sensibility (flirty details and jaunty ruffles are a specialty!), the pair has created quality clothing that is fun, bright, and safe at the same time. Each item is meticulously designed with the love and attention only a beach-loving mama can bring!
